Refund & Cancellation Policy
This Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for purchases made through our online storefront at www.tarboropawn.com. It is part of our Terms of Service. Pawn loans, redemptions, and extensions are not covered by this Policy — those are governed by the pawn ticket you sign in person and by North Carolina pawnbroker law (N.C.G.S. Chapter 91A).
1. Pickup only
All online purchases are pickup-only at our Tarboro, NC location; we do not currently ship items. You will be notified when your order is ready and the timeframe to pick it up.
2. If an item sells before you pick it up
Every item in the storefront is a single, real item in our physical inventory and may sell in the shop at any time. If an item you paid for online is no longer available when we process your order, we will cancel the order and issue a full refund to your original PayPal payment. This is the only situation in which we cancel a paid order on our side.
3. Cancelling before pickup
You may cancel an unfulfilled online order any time before you pick it up by contacting us with your order reference. We will issue a full refund to your original PayPal payment.
4. Inspect at pickup — sales are final after pickup
Pre-owned merchandise is sold as-is. Please inspect your item at the counter before you take it. Once you accept the item and take possession, all sales are final, except as described in Section 5 or as otherwise required by North Carolina law.
5. Items not as described or not functional
If an item is materially not as described in its online listing, or an item described as working does not power on or function as stated, contact us within 48 hours of pickup. If we confirm the issue, we will offer a full refund (or, at your option, a comparable replacement if one is available). This does not apply to normal wear, cosmetic condition consistent with the listing, or items expressly sold “for parts” or “not working.”
6. How refunds are issued
- Refunds are returned to the original PayPal payment. We do not issue cash or store-credit refunds for online purchases.
- Approved refunds are typically initiated within 2 business days and generally appear within 5–10 business days, depending on PayPal and your bank.
- We do not store your payment card details — PayPal processes all online payments and the refund.
7. Pawn payments and redemptions
Online pawn-loan payments and redemptions are applied to your pawn account and are governed by your pawn ticket and N.C.G.S. Chapter 91A, not by this storefront Policy. If a pawn payment was made in error, contact us and we will work with you to correct it consistent with NC pawn law.
